Forty-one-year-old Nicole Woods was content raising her son alone, working as an ad exec, and indulging in the more than occasional cleaning frenzy…until the night she met Wil Blanco.
Her friends have decided that while her son is away for six weeks, it’s the perfect opportunity for Nicole to have a summer fling. Heading the top of the list is Wil — sexy, successful, full of life…and twenty-five!
Regretfully, Nicole declares him “hands-off,” but soon he’s complicating everything, from her job at the advertising agency to her self-imposed ban on relationships. When Wil becomes her top client, she has even more reason to adhere to her “hands-off” policy.
So why is Nicole finding it so hard to keep her hands off him?
Review:
As a cougar myself, hubs is 7 years younger than me, I completely connected with Nicole. I married when I was 37 and age was a HUGE factor for me. I will say that I waited a whole lot longer than Nicole to wake up and realize that my now husband was the one for me and we have never looked back. Married now over 8 years and parents to a 7-year-old son. I think I made the right decision.
That said about Nicole, her indecision about Wil was a little grating. I know that is a novel but at some point it she needed to make the decision. I also realize that the indecision is a great plot point but get over the age difference.
OMG, the salsa dance…One of the best dances ever. I used to go Salsa dancing with a friend of mine in Austin, TX and if that dance doesn’t get in you the mood, you need your libido checked…fast. Loved how they meet. Nicole’s friends were a complete hoot. Annie, Wanda and Pauline make me wish that I had my close friends living near me still. They had her back at all times and were also there to support her, make her think and realize that age is just a number.
Most divorced women, need to realize that just because you have kids, a few wrinkles and an ex-husband that treated you like dog poop doesn’t mean that you are not desirable to another man. Nicole found this to be the hardest thing to understand with Wil. Why would someone of his age be attracted to her? Let me have my husband sum it up for everyone…with age, comes wisdom, knowledge is power and I can kill a bug if needed. In the end, Nicole finally realized that Wil made her happy and damn everyone else.
The book was spicy but not overly. The sex was realistic between a younger man, older woman. Nicole found her libido and Woo Hoo! Again, just because she’s divorced doesn’t mean she’s dead!
Overall, I enjoyed Nicole and Wil’s story but I felt like the ending was a bit rushed. I would definitely read more from Ms. York in the future. She is a author to look at for. 🙂
