Take Me, Break Me by Cari Silverwood – Review

Take me Break me blurb

Jodie is scraping the barrel trying to stay afloat. An idea arrives that could rescue her finances and bring her together in a kinky way with a man she never gave up on. She’s terrified and fascinated, and tempted as hell.

Capture fantasies rule her eBook. Re-enacting one in a documentary would surely be irresistible viewing to millions of women?

But Jodie and Klaus discover that underneath an ordinary man dark desires may lurk. What will win in the end? The man and lover, or the monster?

Review:
F*ck me running.  Deep breath…exhale breath.  Holy crap; I’m still trying to recover from this book.  I don’t think that I will ever fully recover from what I read from Ms. Silverwood.  Which for this reader, is a good thing.
This book pushed me to my limits.  And no, I didn’t have a safe word but I do have my hard limits when it comes to reading.  This book WAS my hard limit.  Since I don’t live the lifestyle, participate in chats about the lifestyle and generally don’t understand why someone likes to inflict pain on someone else, even if its a sexual thing…Klaus was the exception.
Ms. Silverwood’s characterization of Klaus made sense to me.  I know, that’s messed up, right?  For me, no its not.  I got into his mind and heart.  I understood the why and his need for being a sadist.  Reading his POV helped a lot, too.  I feel as if some authors tend to skip over the male POV (in any book) and in this case, it helped me understand Klaus.
He truly did care for Jodie.  They pushed and challenged each other.  Finding out if the lifestyle is for you is difficult.  Personally, if my husband even thought of flogging, caning, or spanking me, I would slap the crap out of him.  Role playing is a different story.
This book is not for the faint hearted at all.  Even if you read the other BDSM writers out there, Ms. Silverwood pushed the envelope.  There is needle play in this one and other way out there sadistic things that Klaus does to Jodie.  I squirmed a lot in this book and I thank Ms. Silverwood for writing it.  It opened my eyes to the SM side of the lifestyle and it will take some time for me to recover.
If you are looking for a mind fuck of read about a couple finding their own in the world of BDSM, then this book is definitely for you.  Truly finding out if you are a sadist and the limits that you will go to is fascinating and mind blowing at the same time.
WARNING:  This book has scenes that are not for newbie reader of BDSM.  I only recommend this book to readers that have read other hard core books with BDSM in them.  You will squirm, sweat, be fearful that Jodie will get physically hurt and wonder just how far Klaus will go in finding his inner Sadist.

  1. You are not sorry but that’s why you are one of the best out there. You challenged me, got me out of my comfort zone and pushed me.

I needed that and I thank you for it. 😉
