Author Interview:
1) How did your current book come about?
In the previous two books in the series, Summer was with a total douche bag. I felt bad for her and didn’t want her to be stuck with him. I also thought it would be fun to turn the most hated character into someone we could all love.
2) Now this is part of a series. When you started the first book, did you plan on writing it as a series, or did it just grow into one?
It definitely grew into a series. I had no idea that the brother and best friend from the first book would end up together so it was a total no-brainer to give them a book of their own.
3) Do you have a method for creating your characters, their names and what do you think makes them believable?
I start with a general idea of what they would look like. Then, I find a celebrity photo to help complete the description. From there, they characters evolve as I write them. I usually name my characters after friends, family, and sometimes, readers. 😀
4) What one person alive today would make you geek out if they emailed you to tell you that they absolutely loved your book?
It’s a toss-up, but I have to go with Ryan Seacrest. Haha! The mom in my YA series (Double Threat) is obsessed with him and NKOTB. I’m not saying she’s based on anyone in particular, but if he read any of my books, I’d probably run around my house screaming. I’m tempted to audition for American Idol just so I can hug him. LOL!
5) If you could be any character in fiction, whom would you be and why?
I’d be Jenna Riley from Taking A Shot by Jaci Burton. That woman is surrounded by hunky men, not to mention her stud of a hockey player. She is spunky and strong, and owns a bar. And she has an amazing family who loves and adores everyone around.
