Finally a book that doesn’t end in a cliffhanger. Yes, I said it. I hate cliffhangers and/or the HFN ending. I want a complete story so that when I turn off my Kindle I’m beyond satisfied with the ending.

I really did like this story. It reminded me of the movie Return to Me with Minnie Driver which I adored. This book had much more depth to it than the movie. Jax was a revelation to me. Sure, he is a so-called bad boy but beneath that swagger is a man grieving the loss of his girlfriend. Add to the fact that she was an organ donor and that was kinda like a slap to the face in a way. I immediately connected with him and his grief. What I didn’t like (in the beginning) was his NOT understanding of organ transplant. I’m an organ donor, so it sorta bothered me.

Holly in some ways was funny to me but only AFTER the transplant. I liked her too and rooted for her just to get her new heart. I can’t imagine what that is like to wait and wait for something that important in your life. After the surgery and the urges that she felt…I could understand all of that for her character. Sometimes she was to sweet for her own good but in the end she wanted but she wanted.

Leah and Micah were some of the best secondary characters that I’ve read in awhile. Perfect sounding boards but more importantly, they were perfectly written that didn’t intrude or feel too sappy. In fact, I would like to read more about them in the future.

I realize that some of the book was a bit predictable but I really didn’t mind it. Once I started to read it, I couldn’t stop. Again, reminded me a bit of the movie Return to Me but with much more depth.

Oh and there are smexy times so don’t worry. Nothing that you haven’t read before but with more understanding and emotion to the scenes. I highly recommend the story of Jax and Holly. The plot flowed, the writing is emotional but more importantly, it dealt with a subject that most authors won’t touch.
