bookreview

Holy hotness peeps!  Yes, I’m just jumping right into the hotness factor.  This is not your Twilight romance.  Yes, they have sex and its hot.  But hey when you have waited as long as Deacon and Cici have…its understandable.  But that said it did somewhat border on erotic with some of the descriptions and language but its not “full on” erotic.  One thing that never happened in the book was biting.  Shoot, they were already vamps so it wasn’t needed.

While I was reading Cici and Deacon’s story what impressed me the most was how “real” they were as characters.  Yes, its a paranormal and we have werewolves and Fae.  Yes, I love me so Fae.  These people co-exist with humans but that’s not without some problems.  But what kept my interest so how the humans really felt about the Others.  This is were the suspense element came into play and I loved how Ms. Covington wove it into the love story.  It was realistic and tied well with Deacon’s and Cici’s back story.  In fact, the twist at the end, I never saw it coming and OMG.  Was it a doozy.  Throw in a witch, too and I was completely blown away.

Deacon and Cici were great characters right from the start.  Their banter, sexiness and totally devotion from Deacon made for a great character arc.  You have to read this book to find out the character arc but trust me, you will swoon and want Deacon has your new book boyfriend.  Cici in the beginning was a bit clueless when it came to how much Deacon truly loved her but never told her or even showed her.  Their back story was also interesting and lead to some witty banter about the 40’s.

I don’t read much PNR but when I do if I’m not hooked from the first chapter, I’m out.  Sex & the Single Vamp had me at the first page.  I read it in one sitting and its on my keeper shelf to re-read.  Yes, its that awesome.  Did I mention that there were Fae and Weres?  Adam, the werewolf and Mya the Fae totally rocked and I truly hope, pray and I will beg if I have to that Ms. Covington revisits this world.  The possibilities are endless and Mya needs some happiness.  Read the book to find out why.  And did I mention that Mya is a bad**s!  Just saying.

This isn’t my first book from Ms. Covington and it won’t be my last.  She is an auto buy for me and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.  🙂
