Two men love her. But only one truly knows her.

College Junior Giada Conti wants nothing more than to pursue a normal life fueled by her own choices. Unfortunately, she doesn’t realize her father’s business isn’t completely lawful, or how that fact will completely dictate her future.

Pre-law student Adrian Patras is certain Giada is the perfect woman for him, until he meets her family and grasps the extent of his girlfriend’s naivete.

As Adrian finds himself unwillingly pulled into the family business, Giada grows frustrated with his insinuations about her father. Meanwhile, Giada’s ex, the notorious Luca Marino, pops back into her life with his own criminal agenda that includes winning her back.

Mafiosa Princess is the captivating first book in the steamy mafia romance series that you won’t want to put down.

He pulled out a magazine and began flipping through it. Based on the ferocity with which he turned the pages, he was still angry.

“So about the villa…” I began timidly.

He slapped the magazine against his legs. “It’s fine, Giada. Forward me the flight details, and I’ll arrange transportation to and from the airport.”

“I could take a cab.”

The look in his eyes as he faced me was terrifying enough to convince me just to let him arrange a car.

“Fine,” I said meekly. “Thank you.”

“Have you always been this stubborn?”

Honestly, I had never been what one could consider low maintenance, but it was possible I’d gotten a little less malleable with age. When I snapped out of my thoughts, I realized Luca was still staring at me. His gaze hadn’t lost any of its intensity, but he no longer seemed annoyed.

“What?” I asked.

Luca shook his head but kept staring.

I flipped onto my side so I could stare back. Two could play at that game. Luca’s eyes widened and then slowly worked their way down my body with a thoroughness that should be reserved for a dermatologic exam.

“Excuse me,” I said. “You couldn’t be a little more subtle?”

Luca grinned. “Why? You know you’re hot.”

“It’s rude.”

“You don’t mind.”

“I might!”

He outright laughed in response.

Grrrrr….oh yes.  I’m pissed off at this book.  I didn’t realize a couple of things when I chose to review it.  First, a love triangle.  OMG!!  I HATE this trope.  I’m a two-person kinda gal, so yeah…pissed.  Second, it’s a trilogy so there is a cliffhanger.  And third, I have to wait until February to see how this is going to play out for now.  So now that you know how I truly feel about the book, I will let you know what I actually liked about it.

  1.  Giada.  Sure she’s sheltered, rich, smart but at the same time wishy-washy when it came to both men in the book.  She was easy to dismiss Adrian and go back to her first, Luca.  Not to spoil it but she dates both of them.  See above.  Grrr…I realize this is college but I didn’t like Luca at all.  More later on him.  I loved though how loyal she was to her family and extended family.  Not to mention her friend, Gabriella.  Plus, what little we get with her mother, I truly want to explore that relationship.  Personally, I think her mother knows the score and doesn’t want that life for her daughter.  Also, her relationship with her brothers is great.  Not too heavy-handed but sweet, especially with Matteo.
  2. Adrian.  #Team Adrian all the way.  I just loved him.  He was always honest with her and even her family, which of course the family didn’t care for.  Again, I really think her mother preferred Adrian to Luca in the long run.  What Adrian didn’t have going for him was that he wasn’t Italian.  Or connected.  Or Luca.  He knew that Giada was his soulmate but was willing to let her go.  Too bad it was right in the arms of his rival.  Can’t wait to see what happens with him in the second book.
  3. Luca.  Nope, just nope.  He might have been Giada’s first everything, but I didn’t like him at all.  Controlling in the end, and this is what opens Giada’s eyes to what is going on.  I wish I could say something nice about him but I can’t.  Except maybe that he truly does love Giada in his own way.

Ms. Malloy has written a great story that I will follow until the end.  Detailed to a point, great dialogue and characters that I actually liked.  Well, not Luca.  But even her parents, brothers, and all the uncles/aunts are wonderfully drawn out.  I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series.  I just wish I had waited until all the books were out there so I could binge-read them and not have all the emotions about waiting to see how the love triangle will play out.  #Team Adrian  Plus, I just hate waiting.

Recommended if you like the trope love triangle.  I don’t but I just want Luca to get slapped by Giada or even better, Adrian.  Also, don’t worry if you don’t like mafia romances.  This book is more about the romance aspect, not the mob.  I have a feeling that’s coming in the next book.

If you like love triangles and mafia romances. Don’t worry, it’s not a dark mafia romance.

  1. Thanks for sharing Mafiosa Princess and for reviewing! I’m so excited about this book! I’m happy to answer any reader questions here too. Also, ARCs of the second book in the series are going out this week, so I will send you a copy of that (although as a caution… that one has a cliffhanger too, but I think you’ll like the ending of it!).

    1. Please don’t think that I didn’t like the book, I did. Just not Luca and what he represents. #Team Adrian all the way. I have no problem with the cliffhanger. Just want Luca to go away. Or maybe Giada’s brothers do something to him. Or the driver, her dad. Shoot, maybe her mother. That would be epic. 🙂 And yes, I would love an ARC.

      1. Hahaha no, I love your review! You had some strong feelings about the characters and that is awesome! I do think you’ll love book 2, and I promise eventually Giada will drop the love triangle…just takes her a while to mature 🙂 I’ll send book 2 soon!

        1. Thank goodness. I didn’t want to offend you at all but I loathe the triangle. Especially when I can’t root for the other guy. The only triangle I have ever liked was in the movie Sweet Home Alabama. Really? She had to choose? I wouldn’t have been able to make that choice. McDreamy or Jake? *sigh* Some girls have all the luck.
