My name is Savannah Miller.
My father is the mayor of New York. One day after my twenty-seventh birthday I was grabbed from behind. A cloth sack was quickly pulled over my head, and I was taken from everything I’d ever known.
I was beaten, starved, treated like an animal, and forced to live in a room with no windows. With no sense of time and no dignity left I finally gave up hope and made a promise to myself to end it all. Unfortunately, it was going to be a slow process.
Then one night an elite group of US Army soldiers came to my rescue. I was brought to a safe house and given two options:
One—Stay under their protection and follow their rules or…
Two—Leave and be guaranteed to be returned to the savages within a week.
I chose option one.
As I work with a therapist and begin processing my hellish ordeal things slowly begin to surface. With the help of new friends and a potential new love I fight to get my life back and make choices that will forever alter my future.
This is my story…

Okay, I’m going to spoil the book for you.  But in a good way.  Here I go:

  1.  This is a trilogy.  You will need to read all three books.  Had to say it.  Sorry, not sorry.
  2.  There will be trigger issues.  Again, sorry but not sorry.  You’ve been warned.
  3.  Tissues.  Make sure you have plenty on hand.
  4.  This story isn’t unicorns and rainbows.  It’s gritty and sad, but hopefully.
  5.  You will swoon for Logan.
  6.  Savannah isn’t a shrinking violet.  She’s tough but she’s been through a lot and needs time to process that and to learn to trust again.
  7. It ends on a major cliffhanger.  Again, you have been warned.  But don’t worry all three books are out so you can binge read.  Trust me, you will need to.

So now that you have been warned, here is my review.

One of the best romantic suspense trilogies that I have ever read.  Yes, EVER!  And yes, I have read all three books.  In one weekend.  And this genre is my favorite to read of all time.  There is something about the grittiness, the gradual friendship to romance and then the deception that had me hooked from the first page.  I felt sorry for Savannah at first but with Logan in her corner, I knew everything would be alright.  Until the end…

Most know that I HATE cliffhangers but when I was able to read all three books at the same time, I decided to take a chance.  I’ve never read Ms. Drake before and I’m glad that I pick them up.  I’ve never given up food and sleep for an author in a long time but I did for her.  She’s that good.  Her writing flowed, her characters are realistic and the tension is subtle and it will leave you guessing.  Plus, she knows how to handle the aftermath of being kidnapped and learning to trust again.  And maybe, just maybe having a romance.

Bravo Ms. Drake.  Can’t wait to share my reviews on the other two books.  Soon…
