INTO THE MAGIC
Star Lite exercises her emerging magical talents to search for Adam, the seductive stranger who captivated her heart during an extraordinary adventure. Her every sense tells her they are meant to be together, yet he has disappeared. Certain he’s in danger, she tracks him down and they meet in Las Vegas, where emotions flare and flames ignite. But Adam must complete a mysterious mission and sends her away. She uses the time waiting for Adam to study with Tristan, a passionate magician with secrets of his own. As Star’s powers are unlocked, she questions the rulings of the authoritarians who control magic. Against Tristan and Adam’s warnings, a premonition moves her to go back to Vegas. There, a new facet of her power puts her life in peril. For protection, Tristan, Adam and Star engage in a sizzling ménage ritual. Join Star as she opens her heart and soul to love, and continues her journey into the magic.
The ding-dong of the doorbell put a halt to her primping. After shoving the makeup into a drawer, she went to the door.
Holy mother of… Star stood with her jaw open and her eyes wide. Tristan was hot. He was tall and had dark hair pulled into a ponytail. He wore a tight T-shirt that outlined a well-developed chest. His eyes were an unusual shade of silvery-grey and they focused directly on hers. Then he smiled, and her pulse sped up. A spark of heat ignited between her legs, which often happened when she was in close proximity to a delicious man, much to her discomfiture. This time, however, was different. A frisson of excitement tickled her spine and her scalp tingled. Tristan gave off a lot of power and she sensed it.
“May I come in?” he asked.
“Oh, yes, of course, please.”
She stepped out of the way as he strode in. His presence seemed to light the room up, and this position offered her another fine view, one of his delicious backside, accentuated by tight jeans.
Another effect of her practising magic, she could now detect colours around people—auras, as the New Age people called them. She’d first noticed this with Adam, on Porrima. When he was excited and happy, he radiated a smooth, warm orange and yellow, so vibrant she felt it caress her skin. Tristan exuded something else, something raw and sensual that made goose bumps pop on her arms. Dancing flames surrounded this man, and he gave off a mix of power, hunger, and something sly. The colours around him kept changing, like a chameleon on a rainbow.
Let me preface this review by saying that after reading it, I think you should read the first book in the series. The series follows Adam and Star and their adventures together. I didn’t feel lost while reading Into the Magic but I felt like I was messing something about Star. On with the review…
As most people know, I like certain aspects of paranormal romance and can be very picky. Ms. Bellina hit on an aspect of the paranormal that I really like. Magic. Yes, magic. Spells, potions, stones, New Age, etc. No they aren’t witches and warlocks but they are ordinary people that have that certain magical qualities about them. They learn their craft and unfortunately have to hide it from everyone.
When the book opens its hot with a capital H. And trust me the hotness factor doesn’t let up. Adam and Star heat up the pages but what kept me in the story was the plot. Part mystery, part suspense, part magical and of course, we are not done with finding out more about Adam and the secrets that he holds. Now we have the “magic” teacher, Tristan thrown in the mix with his teachings and sex magic and I really didn’t want the book to end. Oh and Tristan uses his sex magic more than once. *fans self* Plus, Adam has some explaining to do about Lucas and I don’t think we have seen the last of him.
Like I said at the beginning of the review, I really should have read the first book but not doing so, DIDN’T take away from my enjoyment of Into the Magic. It just makes me mad that I have to wait for book #3. *pout* I already miss Adam and Star. And really what’s up with the planet Kastra? Again…I abhor waiting. 😉
