  1. Thank you for including Coming Home. I hoped to infuse enough romance and love into the plot to not overwhelm readers with the character’s grief over the loss of one of his parents.

  2. You made some good selections. I’ve only read Saving Casey, and found it extremely well written, but disturbing that the major incident in the book was based on something that really happened. Tweeted.

  3. All these titles are new to me. And they tackle very tough topics indeed. And I love what you said about the gaining of understanding and compassion. 😀

  4. I’m not surprised at all that romance writers can tackle intense emotional issues like this, because that’s what we do best…deal with the emotional side of life. Good for all of these authors for the catharsis that some readers will get from their words. Isn’t the world of fiction, but in particular, romance, a wonderful place?

  5. Interesting list! I haven’t read any of those, but they sound interesting. Perhaps I’ll tackle Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, as I’ve worked with a lot of military personnel. Thanks for the recommendations!

  6. Very tough subjects. All books I’d love to read. I love books that make me think and feel–especially when they take me out of my comfort zone.

  7. while these books do have some subjects I’m not entirely comfortable reading about, they look like they would have good stories that I would like to read. great list!

  8. Those are some tough subjects. I have to give kudos to authors for touching on these various subjects. It strikes a nerve with people and they’ll react to it in different ways. This is a great list!
