I will have to admit that it has been a while and a few books since I read about Finn and Carrie. Like, forever ago it seems. In fact, after reading this gem of a novella, I’m going to go back and re-read the series from the beginning. Just reading about Finn, Carrie, Riley, Noelle, Marie, Ben and Hernandez brings back so many emotions, smiles, swoon worthy moments and the perfect HEA’s for the couples. Of course, since I know Ben’s story is up next, I’m sitting here waiting impatiently now.

What makes this book for me are the relationships that have grown over time and flourished. It’s wonderful to see Riley and Finn actually being friends, all things considering with Carrie all those years ago. Plus, just knowing the Finn and Carrie are happy now with their kids is just awe…It’s not all unicorns and rainbows though. Carrie’s dad asks Finn to be a bodyguard one more time for him but this time, all the guys go with him. Carrie’s not so sure this time and when Finn pinky promises his daughter, your heart will melt.

I loved how the girls rallied around each other when they thought the worst at happened. Carrie’s come a long way in dealing with her issues. Plus, knowing that she had your love for Finn to keep her going was priceless.

Overall, even if you haven’t read the other books in the series, you won’t be lost. Ms. McLaughlin does a great job of telling you what happened in the other books but just enough to wet your appetite for more. *wink* This story is spicy (Facetiming will never be the same again) but is also full of love, laughter and friendships. Plus, Susan is just a cute kid. Pick this one up. It’s just what I needed to kick off my holiday reading this year.
