I am the shadow that haunts the night. I am a hunter, a protector…a force for good…I am Jonas Castillo.
And now that she’s mine, I’m never letting her go.
If only she would let me protect her…Seeing the fear in her eyes, makes me want to do the one thing I’ve vowed never to do again… kill.
But I’ll do anything to protect what’s mine.
The finale of The Force Duet. Must be read AFTER the first book, Force.
Jesus H. Christ!  Seriously, Malone Squared!  How do you top Lucia and Noah’s trilogy?  With this gem of a duet!  I’m still riding high from all the adrenaline that I’ve got running through me right now.  Folks, I’m not sure where to start with this review.  I will say this if you have not read the trilogy featuring Noah and Lucia, you are truly missing out.  This duet is a continuation of the whole team at Blake Security but focuses on Jonas and JJ.  I read part 1 and damn…the cliffhanger.  But now worries.  I read this one soon after.
Jonas is trying to keep JJ safe after the team realizes that JJ’s old boyfriend is back and more obsessed with her than before.  I won’t go into details but it has a lot to do with Rafe, Lucia’s brother, and some twisted thoughts that David (JJ’s ex) has about Rafe and JJ.  Yep, it’s twisted but I love how Malone Squared was able to come up with a plot that is so believable, you are basically shaking your head and hanging on for dear life.
Everyone is back and the family atmosphere is even tighter than before.  Oskar still cracks me up, Matthias still scares me and Dylan & Ryan are still a hoot.  Not as fleshed out yet but I can’t wait for them to really start talking.  Lucia and Noah are still there, too.  Noah STILL hasn’t figured out that Lucia is going to do what she wants and when she wants.  Chapter 18 is Lucia’s time to shine with JJ and I couldn’t help holding my breath and then laughing my rear end off.  The action is non-stop in this book, too.  I mean, non-stop.  There are still some smexy times but I felt like it took a backseat to the emotional upheaval and the need to catch David from the team.  I’m not complaining, though.  I loved everything about this book.
Reading Chapter 19 will give you a glimpse at Matthias and I’ve been dying to get his story.  Hopefully, Malone Squared is working on that because of all the characters that I have met, he seems to be the one with the most layers and I can’t wait to see them peeled.
Again, folks, you are missing out on a great series and the world that Malone Squared has created.  Do yourself a favor and read them.
You are welcome!

Before Jonas could answer, they rounded the corner into the kitchen and stopped in their tracks. Ryan stood in the kitchen pouring a cup of coffee, but everyone else was sitting around the long oak table in the dining area. Including Rafe.
“Good morning!” Lucia called. “I saved you some pancakes and bacon.”
JJ smiled gratefully at her friend, but Jonas could already see the pink inching up her cheeks. She rarely blushed, and most of the times he’d seen her do it had been over the last few days.  Because of Rafe. She blushed for that bastard.
“Thank you.  We’re both starving.” Jonas turned to Lucia, determined to ignore the other side of the room. Until he heard a round of masculine laughter and his eyes
were pulled over again.
Rafe smirked.
“I bet. Yo, we get it.  She’s yours and you’re the only one who can make her scream your name. But I don’t think they heard her in New Jersey.”
JJ blushed bright red and dropped the plate of food she was holding on the counter with a clatter. “I’m not hungry.”
“Rafe!”
Lucia yelled.
Rafe looked slightly chagrined. “Come on blondie, I was just joking,” he yelled after JJ’s retreating form. A few seconds later, a door in the hallway closed firmly. Jonas was
across the room before he had a chance to think, and only Oskar stepping in his way stopped his momentum.
“Fuck you, man. What are you even doing here?”
“I work here, remember? And my sister lives here.” Rafe drawled lazily, as if the entire situation amused him.
That only infuriated Jonas more. The bastard acted like everything was a joke. Especially considering how long he’d been gone from his sister’s life. He thought he could
flit in and out of his family’s life with no consequences? Jonas didn’t even know the whole story, but he was furious about Rafe’s actions on Lucia’s behalf. She’d mourned her brother for years.
“Your sister living here didn’t seem to influence your decisions at any other time in your life,” he pointed out.
Like a black cloud had just passed, the temperature in the room dropped a few degrees.
Rafe stood slowly. “You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.”
“Why don’t you come over here and tell me then,” Jonas sneered.
Rafe laughed. “I think we all remember what happened the last time we fought. Can you see me now?”
Jonas growled and tried to push past Oskar. His eyes had fully recovered from whatever Rafe had thrown at him last year, but just the memory of that shit hurt. Months of built-up frustration were about to be released all at once. They’d accepted Rafe because Noah asked them to, but there was only so much a man could take. Even if he died in the attempt, it might be worth it to wipe the smug smile off that asshole’s face temporarily.
“Okay, settle down children. The real enemy is out there.”
Noah appeared from somewhere, and a huge hand landed on Jonas’s chest, keeping him immobile. He leaned closer to whisper in Jonas’s ear. “Take a break. Calm down. I’ve got this.”
Jonas clenched his teeth before turning and stalking down the hall. He trusted Noah a hell of a lot. They’d walked through fire together, literally, and there was no one else he’d rather have covering his back. But Noah had sure as hell better handle it. Because if he didn’t, Jonas would.

M. Malone
NYT & USA Today bestselling author M. Malone lives in the Washington, DC metro area with her husband and their two sons. She holds a master’s degree in Business from a prestigious college that would no doubt be scandalized by how she’s using her expensive education.
Independently published, she has sold more than 1/2 million ebooks in her two series, THE ALEXANDERS and BLUE-COLLAR BILLIONAIRES. Since starting her indie journey in 2011 with the runaway bestselling novella “Teasing Trent,” her work has appeared on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists more than a dozen times.
She’s now a full-time writer and spends 99.8% of her time in her pajamas.
Nana Malone
USA Today bestselling author Nana Malone’s love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense novel she “borrowed” from her cousin.
It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She’s been in love with kick-butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination constantly channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.
While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, Nana works out her drama, passion and sass with fictional characters every bit as brazen and kick-butt as she thinks she is.
