Yes, yes, I’ve heard the rumors. The prince is royal, and cocky and has a—well never mind about all that. The problem is, he’s also my job. When the King called on me to retrieve the wayward prince, I was ready to walk away. Then I caught my boyfriend cheating—and suddenly leaving never felt like a better idea.
Sebastian…
I never wanted the throne.
When I left behind my gilded cage of a palace, it all sounded so simple: find my long-lost brother & make him the prince so I don’t have to rule the kingdom like my father expects. Then I meet my new neighbor, and quickly realize I’ve found the queen of my heart—and bed. Just one problem, I can’t let her find out who I really am.
Guys! This book. Seb and Penny are just too much for me right now. Talk about a different spin on the whole royals sub genre. I will admit that the only reason I read the book is because of Ms. Malone. She is an auto buy/go-to author for me. Throw in a royals story and I’m even further in. What I did expect is the romance and slow build that these two have in the book. Yes, Ms. Malone takes her time getting these two to fall into bed together. In fact, it doesn’t happen until, maybe the 70% mark on my Kindle. I know, I should be floored but in the case of this story, their relationship doesn’t need to be rushed.
Penny and Sebastian are two people that are more alike than they realize. I loved watching them become friends and then lovers. It was also nice that while they had outside influences, it wasn’t to break them up. Oh no, both of them had some really complicated family issues to deal with that I can’t wait to see play out fully in the sequel. Michael and Robert need to be shot, and Aston is just an as* that I don’t think we have seen the last of him.
I will give you a warning though. Do yourself a favor and read the free prequel. I know that some people complain because its NOT complete but trust me, it explains a lot of what Sebastian goes through and in a sense, Penny, too. It also sets up what I’m sure is going to be better explained in the next book. Plus, you get see Seb and Penny has children. What I thought was ironic is that never one of them has STILL put two and two together. They have honestly gotten to know each other has individuals and not has the world has seen them.
Honestly, the last page of this book just FLOORED me. Actually the last 3 pages. I know that Ms. Malone has her reasoning for it and I can’t wait until I get my hands on Cheeky King. Did I mention that the guys from Blake Security show up??? O.M.G!!!! Ms. Malone if I could give you a kiss, I would. I big wet one. I miss Noah, the Viking God Oskar, and Matthias. No fair either because I’m still waiting for Matthias’ book. Maybe Ariel? I loved her and she kept Matthias on his toes.
