GENRE: Contemporary Erotic Romance

BLURB:
Jean Price has loved her boss for the last six years. Unfortunately, he’s been engaged to her treacherous stepsister. When the wedding is called off and a project puts Jean in close proximity with the sexy CEO, she jumps at the opportunity to show him how she truly feels. It’s time to start enticing the boss.
David Shep is finally seeing his father’s protégé for the stunning woman she truly is—in the office and in his bed. But when her support is conspicuously absent when he needs her most, he can’t help but wonder if he can trust her with his heart.

Excerpt One:
“David?” His gaze bolted up toward me, startled. Thank goodness he’d missed my personal tirade in the hall. He was slow to reply, as if recognizing me through a fog. “Jean.”
He breathed the word, and I tried hard not to get excited over the relief he seemed to pack into the single syllable. I took a few more steps into his office. It was in as much disarray as David. File drawers yawned open here and there with folders skewed at angles. White boards were covered with almost unintelligible notes.
“I didn’t expect to see you here this late.” I adjusted the strap of my purse across my shoulder and smoothed the lapel of my coat. He attempted to smile, but his expression fell far short of his usual jaunty grin. Instead, he let a frown fall and shrugged his shoulders, smoothing wrinkles on his normally pristine white shirt across the breadth of his chest.
He sighed, scrubbing a hand over his face. “Beth dumped me.”
“What?” I couldn’t believe it. David and Beth had one of those annoying fairytale love stories behind them that I couldn’t stand, but it wasn’t just because I was in love with the prince and, at times, had considered driving a stake through Beth’s heart. David and Beth seemed well-staged for happy ever after. No one except me—prince included—seemed to notice that the woman everyone thought was Cinderella had, in fact, always been an ugly stepsister.
Hello and welcome! Feel free to add, remove, and/or change questions to suit your personality and book being promoted. Keep it fun!
Welcome, Lily Bly! Please start off by telling us a little about yourself.
I’m a romance author with titles published through The Wild Rose Press. I’ve also started recording audiobooks for other authors. My first two will come out in the spring of 2019. I’m married and have two kids and two cats. I love computers and any new technology. I always spend way too much money at Best Buy.
Is Enticing the Boss a single title, or part of a series?
It’s the first novella in the Passion’s Price series. All of the books will be erotic romances and star a different member of the Price family. Jean Price is the heroine of Enticing the Boss. Her brother’s story is coming up next.
Please share your setting for Enticing the Boss.
The novella takes place in a present-day fictional city in New Hampshire called Elmburn. I’m building it into its own world for more books in the series. The second one takes place in Colorado, but the series will return to Elmburn periodically.
Have you read any new releases or authors that you would recommend?
I’m sorely behind on my TBR list. By the time I get to the books that I added as new releases, they’re no longer new. I recently finished Signs of Attraction by Laura Brown and You’re the Rogue that I Want by Samantha Holt. I’d recommend them both. I also reread Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn after watching the HBO miniseries adapted from it. I’d recommend that book to anyone who likes psychological thrillers. I think it’s the best of her novels.
If you could have an author roundtable discussion with any authors, who would you invite?
I’d choose Vi Keeland, Heather Graham, Heather Gudenkauf, Gillian Flynn, and Tom Hanks (yes, he’s also an author among his many other talents).
Do you have any hobbies or special things you like to do in your spare time?
I love hiking and hunting, and I hope to learn more about archery this year. It helps that I live in the middle of nowhere. I also love watching movies, new releases and old classics, in all genres except horror. I will watch psychological thrillers and paranormal films though if they’re not too gory. I also love, love, love attending live theater, especially plays, musicals, and comedy shows. When I travel, I always try to find tickets to something. I wish I could say I was crafty, but I have a closet of unfinished projects.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve seen?
A two-headed calf in The Carter County, MT, Museum. My grandmother lives nearby, and I would spend summer weeks with her when I was a kid. We would always go through the museum. They have an amazing fossil collection in addition to Montana history displays, but that two-headed calf has always been my first stop there. I’ve taken my kids to see it, too.
What is the one thing that you would tell an inspiring writer to do?
I would advise new writers to take a break when they need it but not to give up. This is a difficult business. As I get deeper in, I’m developing a love-hate relationship with it. Patience is key.
What are your favorite writing resources?
Autocrit and Scrivener are my favorite software resources. I use Scrivener on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Projects sync flawlessly through Dropbox, which I’ve used as a backup system for all my writing for many years. I’m very fond of the Writer’s Guide Thesaurus series by Angela Ackerman and Becca Puglisi, especially The Emotion Thesaurus: A Writer’s Guide to Character Expression.
For a hot, short story, it definitely packs a punch. Why yes, this is a hot, sexy book but it’s so worth it in the end. Plus, considering this is a twist on Cinderella, it makes it that much sweeter. This will be a shorter review because of the length of the book, but I will definitely look up Ms. Bly in the future. In fact, I can’t wait for Jean’s brother’s book.
You’ve all read about the employee pinning for the boss before but Ms. Bly uses a roadblock in the essence of the evil stepsister. The creativity that Ms. Bly uses is great. I won’t tell you what the sisters did to each other but it was epic on the revenge. He He! If I had one gripe, I would have liked some interaction from the parents. Especially the dad and if you read the book you might agree with me. I just felt like he didn’t understand his own daughter’s issues with the stepsister.
David is a dream. Realizing that what is already had in front of him and acting on it as he did. Dang, that is hot in my book. But there is also a very tender side to him, too. The shower scene, in particular. Not many writers can write a scene like that and you can actually feel the tenderness that he has for Jean. And of course, finding out something very emotional afterward, just had me tear up a bit. Jean is NOT a whimpering wallflower. She is a strong woman that unfortunately has a very cruel stepsister. I would have said something at the end of the book to her but what happened (revenge) in the end is epic. Pennywise. Genius.
If you are looking for a short, hot book with characters that you care about, this is for you. The Cinderella twist is great, the revenge is epic (again) and the ending is just too sweet.
