The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant
From New York Times Bestseller, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff
comes a Horribly Sunny Mystery, The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant.
NOBODY MESSES WITH HIS LIBRARIAN. . .
Who killed Michael Vanderhorst’s maker? It’s a darn good question. But when the trail brings Michael to hellishly sunny Phoenix, Arizona, his biggest problem soon becomes a cute little librarian he can’t seem to stay away from. He’s never met a bigger danger magnet! Even her book cart has it out for her. And is that the drug cartel following her around, too? “Dear God, woman! What have you gotten yourself into?”
Things go from bad to worse when local vampires won’t play nice.
Can this four-hundred-year-old vampire keep his librarian safe and himself out of hot water? Can he bring his maker’s killer to justice? Yesterday, he would’ve said yes. But yesterday, he didn’t have a strange connection with a librarian. Yesterday, people weren’t trying to kill her.

Yall this book. I’ve read a lot of Mimi’s books and loved every one of them but this one might be my favorite. I know, I LOVED the OHHellNO series and I’m still waiting for the next book and the Happy Pants series makes me smile. Not to mention that God of Wine is still one of my all-time favorite books. But yall, again, you MUST read this book. But be warned, this is not a romance. It’s a cozy mystery with a dash of paranormal that has humor, heart, and characters that you will fall in love with from the beginning. Plus, go ahead, lick your screen because of the cover. I’ll wait.
This is actually how I pictured Michael. Sexy, smoldering and those eyes. Hypnotic. Plus, he is intelligent. I also liked that he really did care for Lulu. But I will be honest, I’m sure if I buy the whole, she was made for him. While they had that one behind closed door episode, I still feel like Miriam is the woman for him. Of course, since there is no romance in the book, I can’t wait to see how Ms. Pamfiloff continues this little triangle in future books. Oh yes, I will pre-order this series and I don’t like vampire books. What makes this one so special is that the vamps are real people with real emotions. Michael, Lulu and even Mr. Nice (OMG!!! I about lost my *h*t with him. I was laughing until I had tears!) had them. It was refreshing to see that even though the vamps had their rules, procedures, and council, they could still not be douches about what the other vampires were going through.
Miriam at times, I really wanted to slap. And being a danger magnet would be putting it mildly. The twist at the end with her so-called boyfriend was inspired but I really felt like she didn’t want to listen to Michael or even Lulu about what was going on. Needless to say that Michael and Lulu really had to play it cool when it came to what they really were and why stuff was happening to her in the end. Again, Ms. Pamfiloff does an awesome job with all the twists in the story. Some are truly OMG moments and the others are more subtle. I normally don’t gravitate to the cozy mystery books but with this series, I’m a believer. It was a blast to follow Michael and try to figure out what the heck was going on. Did I mention the books? *sigh*
Again, yall. Read this book. It’s Ms. Pamfiloff at her finest. Humor, heart, and plot that makes sense, has all the feels with just a hint of what is to come. Bravo!
