PLEASE MENTION THE PRIZE THAT THE AUTHOR WILL BE GIVING AWAY:
Rachel will be awarding a $25 Amazon GC to a randomly drawn commenter during the tour.
WOO HOO!!!!! Ms. Rachel is here! I love her and 16 Marsden Place is on my summer reading list when I’m on vacation. I’ve been told that my Kindle will be passed around at the family reunion. Yes, I’m a walking advertisement when the family gets together. My SIL’s and Cousin in laws look at my Kindle library and pick what they want to read and then buy them for themselves. And yes, you are welcome. I also pass my Kindle around at Christmas. 😉 Did I mention that Ms. Brimble rocks and that you should go out and gooble up her backlist? Its a must, just saying.
16 Marsden Place
by Rachel Brimble
There isn’t a situation that can’t be fixed by a coat of chocolate body paint or a liberal smear of Champagne Lick, right? Wrong!
Ever since her father was murdered by a gang of youths, Sienna Lloyd has named herself Potterford’s protector—her sexy lingerie shop is a place where the town’s women can visit and feel safe. But when that shop is in danger of closing, Sienna needs a solution that will keep her in Potterford, where she can always look out for her mother, friends, and clients.
The answer? Move the shop to her home at 16 Marsden Place. The problem? Her new neighbor, the delicious but seriously uptight Jack Beaton. Oh, and his four-year-old twin girls.
Jack has just moved to the tiny town of Potterford in a bid to start over. To build a new life that keeps his children safe from their violent and sex-crazed mother. So when he discovers his neighbor intends to open a sex shop right next door, Jack will do anything to ensure it doesn’t happen…including fighting every ounce of his attraction to the shop’s owner and his innate need to trust again.
BANG, BANG, BANG!
The sound of a fist against glass hurled her back onto her ass. “Holy crap!”
The trowel flew from Sienna’s hand up into the air, narrowly missing her left ear on its descent. Her blood pumped wildly as her heart beat an out-of-control tattoo. She looked to the patio doors. Two of the most angelic—yet mischievous—faces she’d ever seen stared back at her.
Surely those two hadn’t the strength to bang on the doors that hard? She frantically scanned the back of the house. Bedroom windows: empty. Kitchen window: empty. Then the back door opened. Scrambling to her feet, Sienna brushed the mud from her knees.
“Oh, Lord. Here goes.” She plastered on a smile as embarrassment burned her cheeks.
When the man, presumably the kids’ father, emerged into the sunlight, her smile disintegrated, and her mouth dropped wide open. Come to Mama.
He strode out onto the decking. His shoulders were broad, his face handsome in a rugged, careless kind of way. His hair was thick and dark, with bits flopping onto his forehead. She clamped her mouth shut to lock in a tongue that wanted to loll onto the grass.
“Can I help you?” He walked down the steps toward her.
His voice was deep, husky, and very, very male. Sienna shivered and drew in a shaky breath. Talk, woman, talk. “Um, hi.” She smiled. “Funny story. I was just…”
“Pinching some of my flowers?”
She laughed, the sound far too high-pitched. “I wasn’t pinching your flowers. I was checking the soil. I’ve been…um…you know, watering them while the place has been empty.”
She bent over to retrieve the trowel. Anything to escape the unrelenting intensity of his gorgeous blue eyes. Lingering for a moment, she cranked her brain into overdrive thinking of something remotely feasible and effective to get her out of there in the minimum amount of time. But her brain remained so unresponsive, she considered the fact she might be dead.
Thrilled to be at my dear friend’s blog today…not so thrilled by the question she asked me to answer, lol!
How much research into the sex trade shop trade did you have to do?
Really! What a question to ask a good girl like me 😉
The reason for the question is that the heroine in my latest release, “16 Marsden Place” owns a sex/lingerie shop. Sienna is fun, feisty and sexy…but she is also carrying a lot of insecurity and pain. Her way to deal with it is by helping other women in her community live the best life possible and a huge part of that comes in enhancing their sex lives J
The quick answer to Harlie’s question is I didn’t actually do a lot of research into the trade at all, because the focus of the story isn’t so much Sienna’s occupation as her emotional state. Sienna chose her vocation rather than me. She came into my imagination very clearly and I knew immediately she ran a lingerie shop and it was under the threat of closure.
Her chosen type of store gave me immediate insight into what kind of woman she is…but I had to find a way to make readers care about her rather than what she does for a living. After “talking” to her for a while, it soon became apparent she likes sex, respects sex…and isn’t get much of it herself!
“16 Marsden Place” deals with Sienna’s sexuality and her need for a good, strong man to match her temperament and painful past. He arrives in the form of Jack Beaton, a man carrying his own hefty dose of sexual resistance…the question is, can each other them teach the other it’s okay to let go now and then??
You have to read the book to find out 😉

Let’s just say, fun is had along the way… 😉
Thanks for the spotlight both on Rachel on on 16 Marsden Place – it does sound like a fun romance to read. I have to admit that I’ve never read anything by Rachel – I thought I had but when I looked over her list of books – no…so I’ll have to pick up a couple of books to check her out:)

This book sounds really hot. Thanks for the giveaway. Please enter me.
I can’t wait to read 16 Marsden Place and find out how Sienna deals with a man like Jack! How long will he be able to resist Sienna’s allure and how will she help him to overcome his resistance to her sexuality?
The question is who will fall the hardest and which one of them will realize first that they are a perfect match because of their differences?
Love the excerpt. Cant wait to read the book.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BOOK AND THE TOUR! THANKS FOR THE GIVEAWAY! email@example.com
