Sadie is a successful romance author. She can write a swoon-worthy man with the best of them but can’t seem to find one for herself. Miles is the cute and wealthy heir to Copeland Press, Sadie’s publishing house. It’s hard to find a woman in his social circle who appreciates a down-to-earth book nerd.

When a twist of fate has Miles and Sadie double booked in the same vacation rental, they decide to share the cabin. Even though Miles isn’t Sadie’s type, she can’t deny the chemistry between them. Sadie’s down for a flirty fling, but Miles has other plans. He’s got a huge crush, and just one week to convince Sadie they were meant for a happily ever after.

SADIE

“What’ll it be?” I looked at Miles after grabbing Ethan’s beer and a Diet Coke for myself.

“What do you have?”

I leaned over and hung on the refrigerator door, surveying its contents. “Corona Light, some cheap boxed wine, orange juice, Diet Coke, Dr Pepper, milk, water.” Miles hadn’t answered, and when I turned back, I caught him dragging his gaze away from my butt. “French vanilla creamer…” I teased, boring my eyes into him. He knew he was busted, but he played it off smoothly.

Miles chuckled. “I was going to say Dr Pepper, but you may have just sold me on the Coffee-Mate.” I grinned at his witty comeback, and his face lit up. Then he winked, and my heart skipped a beat.

There are all kinds of winkers in this world: the squinty winker, the rapid winker, the slow-motion winker, the blinker, the can’t-get-my-eye-closed-all-the-way half-blinker, and my least favorite, the over winker. Like Goldilocks, I decided Miles’s wink was just right.

“I’d have pegged you for a beer man,” I replied, handing Miles a Dr. Pepper.

“I’m actually more of a wine guy. But I’ve just learned that wine with hamburgers is gross, and I’m trying to impress you.” I pressed my lips together. Was he teasing me or flirting with me? Because it sounded like a little of both.

I’m honored to have read Ms. Daniels first adult book.  Why yes, Harlie has read some of her YA books (Fate & Fortune & Kismet & Karma) and LOVED them.  What I found utterly charming about this book and her YA books is that the hero starts off being in love with the heroine.  She lets you know right away how the hero feels about the heroine but then shows the insecurity that he has when it comes to her.  The hero, Miles, is super rich, funny, smart, a book nerd but doesn’t have a clue when it comes to Sadie.  I mean let’s face it, his ex (Whitney) is your typical piece of socialite trash.

This book has a lot of humor, innuendo but its a clean romance.  The innuendo is because of Sadie’s job.  Ms. Daniels does a great job of not being over the top with it and it makes for some great moments between Miles and Sadie.  Once the cat is out the bag so to speak, the romance really begins.  Miles is sweet towards Sadie and doesn’t mind pulling out all the stops.  Breakfast every morning?  Check.  Spa treatments?  Check.  Looking out for Sadie’s friends?  Check.  In fact, Ethan and Keira are great secondary characters for both Sadie and Miles.  They compliment both of them and I can totally see them growing old together as couples that hang out with each other.

The conflict in the story comes from Whitney and yes, you will growl at her.  Trash, just plain trash and I really wish that Sadie would have slapped her or something but again, Ms. Daniels does a good job with her as well.  And the lengths that she will go…Chuck really doesn’t need to go there.AT.ALL.  Hopefully, we can see more of him in a later book.  I truly liked him and even Madie.

If you are looking for a great rom-com that is clean, honest, funny, with characters that you will fall in love with, this book is for you.  Plus, Miles is the biggest book nerd.  There is one scene that plays out straight from Beauty and the Beast.  Major swoon!

  1. Thank you Harlie for leaving such a kind review! I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s hard stepping into something different, when my fans have expectations for something else. I don’t know if it’s your practice to post your reviews on Amazon, but if you wouldn’t mind, I’d be eternally grateful. It’s only been a couplesd of weeks, but the number of reviews on this book is dismal. LOL. I will push your review on my blog today. Hopefully you’ll get a couple readers who come check it out. 😉

  2. Thanks to Harlie’s Books for hosting Millionaire B&B today. I’m Robin, the author, and I love interacting with readers. I’ll keep checking back in case anyone has questions or comments. 🙂
