This isn’t the man she married…

Jenny Buchanan never considered what “for better or for worse” meant when she married Adam Buchanan at nineteen. Six years and two little boys later, “for worse” arrives in the form of a tornado that ravages Slippery Rock and injures Adam. Now he’s a stranger to his family…and love won’t be enough to bring him back.

Only when Jenny asks him to move out does Adam become the husband she needs…but Adam isn’t the only one who’s changed. As their attraction sparks back to life, Jenny and Adam must learn what it is to grow up—and grow together—before this small-town breakup lasts forever.

This is the second book in the series that I have read.  Trust me when I say when I read James and Mara’s story (major swoon and OMG! THAT BOOK), I was intrigued by Jenny and Adam that I couldn’t wait for their story.  And boy was I surprised at the depth of their story.  I know, I shouldn’t be because it’s Ms. Knight writing but Jenny and Adam have had issues for most of their marriage and the tornado and Adam’s injury just made it even worse.

I love married couples in books.  Not every marriage is perfect.  Adam and Jenny’s is no exception.  I loved how Ms. Knight made both of them couplable in the whole mess.  I know, usually, that doesn’t happen but “it takes two” in a marriage and you have to work every day for that marriage.  My own marriage isn’t perfect, nor should it.  That would be boring as hell.

A couple of other things that really rang true for me are integrated their boys, Frankie and Garrett, both sets of parents and MAJOR SWOON Aiden, Adam’s twin.  Oh yes, there is another and he’s MINE.  Sorry ladies, but I digress.  Each family member is that crucial piece of the puzzle that Adam and Jenny need to come to grips with in dealing with their marriage.  The most important part of the book was that Adam and Jenny still loved each other.  Deeply, they just started to resent each other.  Ms. Knight does not gloss over Adam’s physical injuries.  That’s Adam’s biggest obstacle in the book.  Jenny’s is that she lost herself along the way and wasn’t happy about it.

I just adored this book and this series is fast becoming one of all time favorites.  The characters are vivid, emotional, funny, realistic and it’s always fun to go back and see where the other characters are in the town.  And I can’t wait for Aiden’s story; whenever that may be.  Again, I just loved how Ms. Knight made the story so realistic, emotional, at times raw and I truly felt sympathetic to both characters.  I was cheering for them to the very end.  And what an ending it was.  *sigh, swoon, sniffles*

His hands are full running the family orchard and dealing with his delinquent teen sister, so Collin doesn’t need to get involved with someone as fiery and unpredictable as Savannah.
