Sasha Cover3

Blurb:

She’s ready to take back what’s hers

Since the moment a local crime boss claimed ownership of her family’s fairground, Sasha Todd has dreamed of righting the wrong. Now it’s time to act, and backing down from the man’s estranged son is definitely not an option. After all, giving up her legacy to hot-blooded John Jordon means losing the chance to finally heal the wounds in her past.

Stopping John in his tracks—and resisting the sizzle between them—is Sasha’s best defense. But there’s more to him than she thought, which changes everything. With what matters most at stake, she’ll have to risk a brand-new future with John, or walk away from the man whose heart belongs to her.

Character Interview: Sasha Todd

1.  Cotton or Silk?

Cotton

2.  Champagne/beer/wine?

Wine

3.  What drew you to John Jordon?

I have to admit it was most definitely lust at first sight…which quickly become loathe after a longer look, ha ha! The man is built, handsome and has that broody thing going on. What’s not to like?

4.  Name one thing that you find endearing about John?

His good heart…and that he’s a teacher and loves kids.

5.  If you could change one thing about him, what would it be?

I kind of wish he could see Templeton Cove through my eyes rather than his – then he’d love my hometown as much as I do!

  1.   Favorite food –

Fish – all kinds J
7.  If money were no object, where would you like to live?

Right here in Templeton – I have yet to find a nicer place or, for the most part, nicer people.

8.  What’s next for you?

Well, I can’t say too much without giving away the ending of mine and John’s story. Ask me again when you’ve finished the book, ha ha!  Harlie here:  Okay Sasha spill it!  😉

bookreview

Okay, wow, just wow!  This book left me torn in a couple of places.  Of course, Ms. Brimble has written another hit and I just love the people of the Cove but I will admit that I feel like there were a thread or two that didn’t seem finished for me.  But hey, its just me.

Sasha is the type of heroine that I love.  Strong, smart and not afraid to be in control…in or out of the bedroom.  (Major spoiler if I reveal why)  But at the same time, conflicted about her feelings about John.  As she said, its lust at first sight and then loathing.  I mean John is the crime boss’ son and now owner of Funland, the amusement park that she holds dear.

Funland is the amusement park that her family had held for many years. Sasha thought growing up that Funland would always be hers to run and to own. But after a series of events that she knew nothing about, the local crime boss Kyle Jordan now owned Funland and had for many years.  Turning a blind eye to the illegal sale of drugs and money laundering, the only thing that Sasha holds dear is trying to get the amusement park back from a crime lord son John.

John was a dream.  Determined, sexy and so in lust with Sasha from the get go.  If I had to be picky…no, I’m not.  He’s perfect.  From his gentlemanly treatment of Sasha to the scene in the kitchen (Oowza!), John was always there for Sasha.  At times, Sasha didn’t feel like she was in control of the situation and that scared her.  Again…spoiler if I told you but believe me, Ms. Brimble handles Sasha’s hurt with a gentle hand and touch.  Bravo for even bringing that subject up in a romance book.  😉

And yes, the scene at the prison…I almost cried and I shouldn’t have felt that way.  Kyle needed to pay for what he had done to both his son and Sasha but somehow Ms. Brimble made him human.   I just wish I had gotten that kind of closure with Sasha’s mom.  That’s the thread that I’m talking about.

I should go ahead and tell you that this book does not have a lot of suspense unlike the other two books in the series. But what I did like about it was finding out the back story about Kyle Jordan and Sasha’s family. And the best part about this book was when John and Sasha finally put two and two together and realize that both of their lives had been intertwined with each other for a very long time. It was also nice to see Cat and Jay from the first book in the series. As minor characters in this book, they do bring added depth to John and Sasha’s book. In fact I would almost recommend you to read the first book in the series Finding Justice which is Cat and Jay’s book because Kyle Jordan does make an appearance or two in that book and it ties to the third book brilliantly. It also gives Kyle’s character more depth and in some way some understanding of what and who he is and had become.

There is so much of this book that I would like to talk about but it would definitely be spoiling it for you. This is one of those books that you just have to sit down and read. Because in the end it’s not about the amusement park and it’s not about the crime lord Kyle either. It’s about one’s perspective on their hometown, the way they were brought up, family secrets but ultimately it’s about two people that were wounded as children that try to right the wrong of their parents and finding love along the way.

I really enjoyed reading John and Sasha story. And as I know there are more stories planned for the Cove. Let’s see we can talk about Leah or Eloise.  Or maybe there are some characters that Ms. Brimble hasn’t introduced to us yet but I can’t wait to find out.

    1. Hi Maria!

  1. Ha ha!! Thank you, lovely lady, for such a fabulous review! Your enthusiasm for the Cove and its residents flies off the page. You have made me so happy 🙂 To answer your question of what’s next…the Christmas book is released in November and stars a brand new hero and heroine. However, I am writing book 5 as I speak and that one will star Sasha’s sister, Tanya and the lawyer, Liam Browne…

I think a future story might have to be Leah’s…you’re the third person who’s mentioned her having her own book!

    Rachel xx

    1. Oooo, I liked Liam. 🙂 I’m glad that I’m not the only one that wants Leah to have a story. I liked her.

I love this series. I will have to say that I love that Cat is still a badass.

      1. Ha ha! Cat is one of my favourite characters of all time – I plan to have her keep coming back 🙂
