Day Five of Melissa Schroeder’s Tease Me (Semper Fi Marines)

So, we have made it to Day Five! Woot!

Those of you who know me, know that I spend a lot of time online. I am very proud of the fact that I won Authors After Dark Most Accessible Author Bookie Award this year. I love hanging out with readers online and in person. But, there might be a few things you don’t know about me.

-I am a military brat to a father who spent 23 years in the service but I also had two uncles and two grandfathers who served in the military. I was married to my husband before he went into the service.

-I hold a BA in English and history and had thought I would write literary novels.

-Through the years I have worked many interesting jobs from Pampered Chef Consultant to child care provider to substitute teacher. One that most people don’t know about is my time working at an Aladdin’s Castle.

-I made my first bowl of spaghetti and meatballs at the age of seven.

-I have lived in 8 states and 2 different countries.

-Charlie McMurtry, Larry’s (Lonesome Dove, etc), and I went to college together. He was getting his MA while I was working on my BA. He taught me how to waltz.

-I met my husband at a wedding.

From an early age, Melissa loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book.
Since the publication of her first book in 2004, Melissa has had close to fifty romances published. She writes in genres from historical suspense to modern day erotic romance to futuristics and paranormals. Included in those releases is the bestselling Harmless series. In 2011, Melissa branched out into self-publishing with A Little Harmless Submission and the popular military spinoff, Infatuation: A Little Harmless Military Romance. Along the way she has garnered an epic nomination, a multitude of reviewer’s recommended reads, over five Capa nods from TRS, twelve nominations for AAD Bookies, winning both Most Accessible Author and Author of the Year, and regularly tops the best seller lists on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. She recently had her first USA Today bestselling book, The Santinis Collection.

Since she spent her childhood as a military brat, Melissa swore never to marry military. But, as we all know, Fate has her way with mortals. She is married to an AF major and is raising her own brats, both human and canine. She spends her days giving in to her addiction to Twitter, happy her husband is finally retired and they are living where the bugs die in the winter.

TeaseMe

  1. I’m a Cappy, all that change with moving gives me hives. I need to have everything where it belongs. I wish I was more easy going when it comes to change.

  2. Love finding little know facts about authors. How romantic, you found your husband at a wedding. Ah-Ah so sweet. I would love to learn to waltz and do some of the other fancy dances.
I don’t know how I feel about living in so many different places. Visiting would be cool, but I love that I have always lived in the same general area. I think it would be okay to live in the different states if had no kids.
Thanks for another fun post. Can’t wait to read this book.
