Blurb

Brad De Luca is used to getting whatever, and whomever, he wants. The premier divorce attorney in town, he is a forty-year-old playboy who’s bedded half the city—including his own clients. And when the newest intern at his firm poses a challenge, his seductive prowess goes into overdrive.

Pre-law student Julia Campbell is fresh off a failed engagement and happy with her new independence. Even if she weren’t warned away from Brad at every turn, she’d know he was bad news. The last thing she needs is an older man who could destroy her job prospects, not to mention her innocence. But before she knows it, the incorrigible charmer has her under his spell. His deviant tastes plunge her deep into a forbidden world of sexual exploration…but her heart may not survive the fall.

Warning: This title is intended for readers over the age of 18 as it contains explicit sex scenes and/or situations (including m/f/m menage) and adult language, and may be considered offensive to some readers.

Excerpt #2:

Brad walked alone through the club. Dancers nodded and squeezed his arm as he passed, but he didn’t stop, his eyes scanning the crowd for Montana and Julia. He had taken longer with Alexis then he had intended, and didn’t want Julia alone and pissed at the table. His eyes searched the crowd and finally stopped on the table where they had originally sat. His lips set, he strode forward.

He had to push himself through the crowd that had gathered, a mixture of drunk executives and Abercrombie-attired college boys. Julia was kneeling on the round table that had previously held their champagne flutes and ice bucket. Her strapless dress had been pulled down; her breasts were exposed and alert. Montana had an ice cube in her mouth and was running her mouth over Julia’s breasts, making her nipples stiff and pink. As he watched, Julia leaned forward and placed her hands on Montana’s breasts, pushing them together and kissing her deeply. Jesus Christ.

The girls separated. Montana sprinkled Julia’s nipples with the salt and then licked and sucked one of them, kissing Julia long and hard, both their hands roaming. Julia and Montana then grabbed shots of tequila and downed them, holding up the glasses in celebration.

The crowd cheered and started chanting. “Another! Another!” Their energy swelled, and Brad was jostled by a push of bodies behind him.

Where the fuck is Janine? He looked around but didn’t see her.  Montana shouldn’t be drinking, though he could probably see how this had happened, and cursed himself for taking too long with Alexis. Finding a black-shirted security guard, he yelled into his ear, trying to make himself heard over the crowd. “Did Montana get approval to drink?”

“Yeah. Janine gave her an hour of drinking, then said she’d need to go home—no working afterward.”

“All right. Make sure the crowd stays under control and doesn’t mess with the girls.”

“You got it, boss. Ricky’s keeping an eye from the other side. Right now everyone’s behaving.”

Brad looked back to the two girls. Montana was pulling Julia’s dress over her head, exposing her tanned, toned stomach and a lace thong that left nothing to the imagination.  He groaned, the image pulling at his recently restored composure.

Review:

First of all, don’t let the cover and blurb fool you.  This isn’t about a virgin entering the world of BDSM.  Sorry to disappoint you.  Its so much more than that.  I never saw the ending coming and it was left as a cliffhanger of sorts and now I must read the sequel.  *pout*  I hate waiting for sequels to books that I devoured in an afternoon and was left wanting more.  *double pout*

Ms. Torre has written a smart, yes very smart erotic contemporary about a young intern and the man that everyone warned her about.   I know what you are thinking…same old troupe and in a way it is but it different.  Brad knows when to push and when not to.  He also RESPECTS Julia as a person.  Julia is smart, driven and doesn’t want or need the distraction of Brad but there it is.

Brad fascinated me from the start.  I could see past the parties in his wing of the firm and the rumors.  After divorcing the one woman that he thought he loved after college, he is finally able to confront what he wants from a woman in and out the bedroom.  What he didn’t expect was Julia.

Julia challenged Brad from all sides of their relationship.  When he pushed, she pushed right back.  While the trip to Vegas was an eye opener for Julia (read excerpt above and yes, there is no f/f , just body shots.  If you’ve never done a body shot, WOW!  And that’s explains some of my 20’s) it was an eye opener for Brad, too.  He realized that it wasn’t about the sex but about getting to know Julia and to open up to her and for her to realize what she truly wants with Brad.

Their lovemaking was emotional, sexy and somewhat erotic.  Yes, there is m/f/m but I’m not telling you where it is.  😉  Yes, I’m a tease and I live by no spoilers, too.  The ending to their story is really a beginning for Brad and Julia.  These two didn’t play mind games with each other and were honest from the beginning.

I dare you to pick up this book and tell me its not smart erotic romance.  Yes, there is sex in it and its hot but that’s NOT the point of the story nor is it in there for sex’s sake.

I can not wait for the sequel and its supposed to be out sometime this year.  Again, I HATE waiting.
